LDC Updates - September 2022 (Part 2)

Dear colleague,


There will be an LDC meeting at Chelmsford Golf Club on:

Monday 3rd October 2022.

The meeting will commence at 6.30pm with a hot meal of sausage and mash (vegetarian alternative available) plus tea and coffee.

We are hoping to have David Barter to give us an update on 'End of Year' calculations, as well as a representative from the newly formed Integrated Care Boards.

BDA webinar: NHS contractual changes - avoiding the quicksand

The recording of the webinar is now available. To view it on the iLearn portal please use the link below and insert your usual BDA website username and password. https://bda.multichanneltv.com

The recording is available to book via the on-demand webinar back catalogue and anyone who was unable to join live on the night can arrange access by registering via the website first. They will then receive an email with details of how to view the recording.

Access is free for members but a charge applies for non-members.

MSc programme Subsidy (HEE and University of Essex)

Health Education England and the University of Essex are delighted to be working together to launch an exciting initiative to provide access to high-quality professional development at Masters level of study through subsidisation of the current courses.

The subsidisation will be for the academic year 2022-23 only and will start from £4500 subsidy for dentists and £5500 for Dental Care Professionals of the annual course fee for that academic year. This will involve the MSc in Periodontology (for dentists) and MSc in Advanced Periodontal Practice (for Dental Care Professionals).

The subsidised places will be limited on both programmes, so we encourage prompt expression of interest and application. To apply please contact: hhsohlth@essex.ac.uk

Applications must arrive by Friday 16th September 2022 to be eligible. You must also meet the following entry requirements:

  • A relevant professional qualification and current registration with the General Dental Council

  • A minimum of 2 years post-registration experience

  • A degree with a minimum overall 2:1 in a relevant subject

OR

  • Relevant professional experience and qualification that demonstrate ability to study at Masters level

  • Currently employed in a relevant field of practice

  • Successful performance at interview
